The Dual Credit Introduction to Teaching class has been life-changing for Katelin Townsend grade 11, Trinity Cook grade 12, and Harmony Gooden grade 11. “They are so motivated to go to college and give back to their community by hopefully pursuing a Career in the Teaching profession,” said Ms. Angela Martinez, the Rich Township High School course instructor. “They are an enthusiastic group of students that make me proud every day.”
The campus visit was truly a memorable experience for the students. Our day consisted of a personalized campus tour with Silvia Rodriguez from the School of Education. In the afternoon, the students had a working lunch with Nancy Goldberg, Assistant Dean of Student Academic Affairs, Yvonne El Ashamawi Clinical Assistant Professor School of Education, and Silvia Rodriguez.
Students must be juniors or seniors with a 3.0 unweighted GPA. Upon completion of this course in the Spring of 2022 they will receive college credit from Loyola University and High school credit.
