Dear Rich Township Families,
Thank you to our students, staff and families for your patience and support over the past few weeks. The district has put supports in place to ensure that issues on our campuses are being addressed, so that our students, families, and staff feel safe at school. This week, we adjusted our student schedules to reduce flex time for freshman and sophomore students. Freshman and sophomore students will now have study hall added to their schedule where they previously had two or more mods of flex time. Students should start following their new schedule immediately. Sophomore students who have one mod of flex time on their
schedule should report to a flex space. Parents can view the new schedule in PowerSchool.
We are also changing the dismissal process to ensure an orderly dismissal from school. Students will now spend an additional 20 minutes in their last class so that we can dismiss as buses arrive. We anticipate that this change will help address some of the issues we have experienced due to the national bus driver shortage.
