On April 23, 2024, Rich Township High School proudly hosted the annual Future Ready event at the Tinley Park Convention Center. The event recognized the remarkable achievements of nearly 70% of the graduating seniors who have earned college credits through innovative education programs.
Glenn Marshall, esteemed news reporter from WGN News in Chicago, graced the occasion as the keynote speaker, sharing inspiring insights and celebrating the scholars' dedication to academic excellence. His speech highlighted the importance of early preparation and the role of education in shaping a promising future.
The Future Ready event paid tribute to seniors who successfully participated in several prestigious programs, including the Loyola College Early Education program, Prairie State College Early College Initiative program, the International Baccalaureate program, and the College Board Advanced Placement program. These programs have provided students with the opportunity to engage in college-level coursework while still in high school, giving them a significant advantage as they transition to higher education.
Rich Township High School's commitment to providing these advanced academic opportunities is part of its mission to prepare students for successful futures. "We are immensely proud of our students and the hard work they have put into not just meeting, but exceeding expectations. These programs are crucial in helping them build a solid foundation for their college careers," said Dr. Kevin Gallick, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services at Rich Township High School District 227.
The event was attended by students, parents, faculty, and distinguished guests from the educational community, all coming together to honor the academic achievements of these talented young individuals.
