Rich Township High School is delighted to announce its recent authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). This esteemed recognition reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional and comprehensive education for our freshmen and sophomore students.
Our MYP teachers and staff have dedicated their efforts in collaboration with IB to achieve this recognition. This hard work now places Rich Township High School amongst a global community of over 5,000 schools across 150 countries. The recent visit by the IB verification team resulted in commendations on our engaging curriculum, the expertise of our teachers, and the enthusiasm of our students and parents.
Together with the Diploma Programme verification from the previous year, Rich Township High School is proud to extend the IB offering for students from grades 9 through 12.
IB Academy Leader, Ms. Waters, shared her excitement: “Our IB team is beyond thrilled with this authorization. The MYP approach not only fosters academic excellence but also emphasizes real-world connections, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the future. Through inquiry, action, and reflection, we believe that the MYP lays a robust foundation for our students, propelling them towards collegiate and post-secondary achievements.”
Nijah Lewis, a dedicated sophomore who transferred programs specifically to enroll in IB, voiced his experiences: “The rigor of the IB classes is definitely a step up, but it's the kind of challenge that I was looking for. What stands out to me most is the support system and the broader perspectives offered by my teachers, which enrich my learning experience."
Rich Township High School remains committed to offering our students world-class educational opportunities. We are optimistic about the future of our IB programs and are eager to see our students thrive both academically and personally.
