Dr. Sanders Visit

The Rich Township High School District 227 was honored to host the newly appointed Illinois State Superintendent, Dr. Tony Sanders, for a significant visit to both our STEM and Fine Arts & Communication campuses today.

The visit, which showcased the remarkable developments and offerings of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, was led by Dr. Johnnie Thomas, Superintendent of Rich Township, and supported by the dedicated Rich Township High School Board of Education.

We were delighted to provide Dr. Sanders with a detailed tour of our state-of-the-art facilities, highlighting the dedicated learning spaces that have been developed specifically for our scholars. This showcased the tremendous strides we have taken in fostering academic excellence and innovation, all while preparing our students for a future in a highly technical world.

Dr. Sanders was accompanied by his newly appointed Chief of Staff, Dr. Kimako Patterson, who expressed considerable admiration for the significant advancements and innovative approaches being adopted at our school campuses.

The visit underscores the shared commitment and dedication of all educators in Illinois towards fostering an environment of educational excellence and inclusivity. Dr. Sanders' visit today marks a pivotal moment for Rich Township High School District 227, affirming our mission and vision to be leaders in education while nurturing the potential of our scholars.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Sanders and Dr. Patterson for taking the time to visit and appreciate the strides we have made in education at Rich Township. We are excited about the future and look forward to continued collaboration with the Office of the State Superintendent in providing the best education for our students.
